LOCATION:the park lies in Panama and Colòn Provinces, 40 kilometers by road from Panama City.

ACCESS: there is easy road access from Panama City and Colòn City, especially to the Cerro Azul and Cerro Jefe sectors, where there are clearly marked paths. Lake Alajuela and the River Chagres can be reached by launch rom several points on the lake or riverside.

FACILITIES: the administrative headquarters are in the area of the former panama scout camp. There are three administrative branch offices: in Altos de Cerro Azul, with a campsite: and in Cuango and Alajuela, each with a nature trail. There are two refuges, the Guagaral and the Cascada, and three control posts.
